A new poster for Gareth Evans’ religious cult thriller Apostle has arrived

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Netflix has debuted a stylish, new poster for the upcoming religious cult thriller APOSTLE. Directed and written by Welsh filmmaker Gareth Evans (THE RAID, THE RAID 2), the film stars Dan Stevens (TV's LEGION, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST), Lucy Boynton (MISS POTTER, MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS), Bill Milner (SON OF RAMBOW, ANTHROPOID), Kristine Froseth (JUNIOR, REBEL IN THE RYE), and Michael Sheen (TV's MASTERS OF SEX, MIDNIGHT IN PARIS).

Here's the official synopsis for APOSTLE:

London, 1905. Prodigal son Thomas Richardson (Dan Stevens) has returned home, only to learn that his sister is being held for ransom by a religious cult. Determined to get her back at any cost, Thomas travels to the idyllic island where the cult lives under the leadership of the charismatic Prophet Malcolm (Michael Sheen). As Thomas infiltrates the island’s community, he learns that the corruption of mainland society that they claim to reject has infested the cult’s ranks nonetheless – and uncovers a secret far more evil than he could have imagined. Apostle is a harrowing occult fable where the only thing more horrifying than madness is the sinister reality behind it.

Hold up. You're telling me that Dan Stevens and the director of THE RAID series are getting together for a film about malevolent religious cults? Well, my interest is certainly piqued. How about you?
