A remake that’s been long in development, the big screen version of THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E has gotten itself a new writer.

Max Borenstein has been tapped to write the latest draft of the screenplay. You may not be familiar with Borenstein. His most recent work was writing the script for the Jimi Hendrix biopic, JIMI.

THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. (United Network Command for Law and Enforcement) was a television series that aired from 1964-1968. The series followed the espionage adventures of Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin as they fought against the forces of T.H.R.U.S.H. (Technological Hierarchy for the Removal of Undesirables and the Subjugation of Humanity). The original show starred Robert Vaughn and David McCallum.

David Dobkin (WEDDING CRASHERS) is set to direct the feature and will produce with John Davis and Jeff Kleeman. Back in 2004, Matthew Vaughn was going to helm the project, but decided to take on STARDUST instead.
