The mainstream version of REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA known as REPO MEN is gearing up for it’s release date next month with a couple of stylish new posters featuring unfocused stars Jude Law and Forest Whitaker in silhouette.
This is how I know this pairing of posters is effective: last Friday I was walking the streets of Seattle when I saw this pair of posters plastered on the side of some construction site. And I mean plastered–about 50 of ’em, covering at least half the block. The posters popped from far away and from up close, and even though I already knew of this movie, it made me want to know more. And that’s the sign of an effective movie poster.
It was also effective in that, later that day, the city had painted over all the posters. Looks like I wasn’t the only one noticing how cool these posters were lookin’, either!
REPO MEN goes a little something like this: Set in the near future when artificial organs can be bought on credit, it revolves around a man who struggles to make the payments on a heart he has purchased. He must therefore go on the run before said ticker is repossessed.
Enjoy the new posters below, and get ready for repossession on March 19, 2010, when REPO MEN hits theaters everywhere.
