A Quiet Place Part II now set to break its silence for a Labor Day release

Paramount, A Quiet Place Part II, Labor Day

Stop me if you've heard this one: Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, another one of Hollywood's most-anticipated films of the year has been rescheduled from its original date.

Paramount's A QUIET PLACE PART II, which was expected to stealthily sneak into theaters on March 20 before getting delayed thanks to the bane of everyone's existence, COVID-19, will now make some noise in theaters on September 4. That's right, folks. The sequel to John Krasinski's 2018 surprise smash will now be putting in work during Labor Day weekend. Typically, the tail-end of the summer box office is quieter than the Abbott family looking to sneak toward their next place of shelter, but Paramount is hoping that A QUIET PLACE PART II will defy the laws of tradition to make some noise at ticket booths. Hell, Stephen King's IT was able to coax droves of moviegoers to its three-ring circus during 2017's Labor Day weekend, so why should Krasinski's sequel fare any differently? After all, A QUIET PLACE PART II is bound to be packed with plenty of frights, and I'd bet that lots of people would delight in being afraid of something other than the air we breathe for upward of two hours, amiright?

Here's the official synopsis for A QUIET PLACE PART II:

Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.

Directed by John Krasinski, A QUIET PLACE PART II stars Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe, with Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou also set to run for their lives (quietly) from a horror that only attacks when you make make a sound.

A QUIET PLACE PART II will now open in theaters during Labor Day weekend on Sepetmeber 4, 2020.
