We're used to hearing the news that A Quiet Place Part II has been delayed. Originally scheduled to reach theatres on March 20, 2020, this film has moved all over the schedule as Paramount tries to decide how to get it out into a pandemic-stricken world. But the latest A Quiet Place Part II news is different from the norm; Paramount has announced that they're moving the film up from its September release date to May 28 – giving it a Memorial Day Weekend release.
Paramount was previously planning to release the Mark Wahlberg action-thriller Infinite on that weekend, but decided to push that one back to September. Universal had scheduled the latest Fast and Furious movie for a late May release, but recently moved it to June 25th.
May 28th is the fifth release date A Quiet Place Part II has had. Now we'll just have to wait and see if it's going to stick to this date. Whenever it is released, the movie will have a "theatrical only" window of just 45 days before it's added to the Paramount Plus streaming service.
Written and directed by John Krasinski, the sequel to A Quiet Place (watch that HERE) has the following synopsis:
Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.
The film stars returning A Quiet Place cast members Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe, as well as new additions Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou. Krasinski also makes an appearance in there.
Paramount has already hired Jeff Nichols to write and direct a third film in the series, working from an idea by Krasinski.
