Michael Fassbender is out to stop a serial killer called THE SNOWMAN in the new international trailer for director Tomas Alfredson's adaptation of the Jo Nesbø bestseller.

The first trailer hit on a hot summer day back in July, but now the weather is getting cooler, working hand-in-hand with the debut of this new trailer to indicate that THE SNOWMAN is coming. This is a project I've been on board for since Alfredson, Fassbender, and co-star Rebecca Ferguson signed on at the end of 2015, and with the film's release date swiftly approaching I am very ready to check it out.

The synopsis:

When an elite crime squad’s lead detective (Fassbender) investigates the disappearance of a victim on the first snow of winter, he fears an elusive serial killer may be active again. With the help of a brilliant recruit (Ferguson), the cop must connect decades-old cold cases to the brutal new one if he hopes to outwit this unthinkable evil before the next snowfall.

In the cast with Fassbender and Ferguson are Charlotte Gainsbourg, Toby Jones, Val Kilmer, J.K. Simmons, and Chloë Sevigny. Fair warning: the trailer below contains spoilers about Sevigny's character.

THE SNOWMAN was produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Robyn Slovo, and Piodor Gustafsson. Alfredson and Nesbø served as executive producers on the film, as did Niclas Salomonsson, Liza Chasin, Amelia Granger, and Martin Scorsese, who had been planning to direct it at one time.

Universal Pictures has scheduled THE SNOWMAN for an October 20th release.
