To celebrate the 30th anniversary of THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, Lucasfilm is putting together a special screening of the film at the ArcLight Theater in Hollywood with all proceeds going to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. That’s all well and good, but the big news here is that Harrison Ford will be on hand for a Q&A session after the film.
Why is this a big deal? Well, almost everyone else in the Star Wars universe has routinely done interviews concerning their roles, Harrison Ford’s attitude can be best summed up in this quote he gave during the EXTRAORDINARY MEASURES press tour.
“Han Solo was very good to me at a certain point in my career, but I’m done with him.”
I’m not sure why he’s upset when he gets questions about Solo. It’s not like his career tanked and he ended up being a one-note actor after JEDI wrapped. But whatever his reasons, I guess the cries of sick children were too much for him to ignore, so he will be onstage to answer all STAR WARS related questions at the screening.
The bad news of all this? Tickets are REAL steep, ranging from $100-$175, but hey, it’s for the kids. But them here at St. Jude.
