A teencentric romantic werewolf movie makes us Shiver

With THE WOLFMAN hitting theaters today after a few years of delays, it’s only fitting that we break to you news of another werewolf movie that was just announced today via Variety. The film’s called SHIVER, based on the supernatural romance novel by Maggie Stiefvater. That’s right. Supernatural romance.

Moving forward through Unique Features, Nick Pustay has been hired to adapt the novel to the big screen, and when you hear what this sucker is all about, I’m sure you’ll howl at the moon… in fear, anger, or both!

The novel SHIVER is described as so: For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—is a chilling presence she can’t seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human… until the cold makes him shift back again. Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It’s her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human—or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

Thank you TWILIGHT for giving shite like this the chance to be made. It sounds like a bad joke, and an even worse movie. And one of those movies that people will fight you to the teeth to convince you that it’s not about werewolves, but about boys who turn into wolves. In which case said people will deserve a solid bitch-slap to the face.

SHIVER gives me the shivers just thinking about it. Stick around for more on this romantic werewolf movie as we hear it.

I wonder which Gossip Girl star will take the lead?
