When I came across these three new posters from Mark Romanek’s (ONE HOUR PHOTO) NEVER LET ME GO, I finally decided to go back and watch the trailer which I’ve missed so far. It tells the tale of three youth who grow up together at a "seemingly idyllic boarding school" who start to fall for each other.
Annnd it looks good, but I think I’ve deduced a lot about the film’s mystery purely based on clues from the trailer. I have not read the book, so this is pure speculation which I do not count as "spoilers."
– The school is isolated and no one is allowed to leave under penalty of violence
– They children are tracked using some sort electronic tech
– They are not to live for any other purpose than the one they are given
– They are require to make "donations" periodically throughout their lives
– They are not expected to live very long
– They are referred to as "poor creatures"
Soooo, this is THE ISLAND in the English countryside? They have to all be clones or specifically bred-for-organs humans right? I just think they might have hinted at too much of the answer in the trailer, but perhaps I’m off track completely, or this isn’t even supposed to be a mystery. If anyone has read the book, feel free to shut the hell up because I don’t want to know if I’m right or not.
