QT will KILL BILL again

Fresh off the international success of INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS, Quentin Tarantino can pretty much write his own ticket as to what comes next. (Well, he’s always been able to do that…) While on an Italian chat show promoting BASTERDS, Quentin declared that he is in fact prepping another KILL BILL, before hollering “The Bride will rise again!”
I’m not the world’s biggest KILL BILL fan, so I might not be as stoked about this as some. I’d rather QT embark on a new vision, something completely fresh (don’t forget, BASTERDS was gestating in his mind for years) than drag Beatrix Kiddo through the muck again.

Biel in A-TEAM

Not much to say here, other than take a look at Jessica Biel lookin’ hot in Vancouver while filming THE A-TEAM. Biel is apparently playing the love interest of “Face” (Bradley Cooper), while also being one of the soldiers on the hunt for him and his three pals on the run.
The story involves the new team (now vets of the Iraq war, natch) trying to clear their name with the US military, who suspect the four men of committing a crime for which they were framed. Directed by Joe Carnahan, it’s scheduled to be released JUNE 11, 2010.

DOLPH talks UNI SOLDIER: A NEW BEGINNING

UNIVERSAL SOLDIER is a big-time guilty pleasure for me. It’s actually the only Roland Emmerich movie I can still stomach, and I think it has a lot to do with Dolph Lundgren’s unhinged, off-the-wall performance. Jean-Claude does his thing, of course, and it’s fine – but it’s Dolph’s movie all the way.
So it’s great for me to see the man reprising his role as Andrew Scott in UNIVERSAL SOLDIER: A NEW BEGINNING, which just played at Fantastic Fest to generally positive reviews (read Film School Rejects’ take right HERE). Lundgren and Van Damme return for this entry, which is a reboot of sorts for the franchise, even though it’s been churning out sequels for years now. In addition, we’ve embedded a video interview with Dolph – conducted by Gordon and the Whale – below for your viewing pleasure.
UNIVERSAL SOLDIER: A NEW BEGINNING will debut in 2010.

BOONDOCKS SAINTS II poster

Those bad-ass MacManus boys are back in BOONDOCK SAINTS II: ALL SAINTS DAY, which is of course the sequel to BOONDOCK SAINTS – apparently a cult classic. I’ve personally never seen it, but I’ve seen OVERNIGHT, the documentary about director Troy Duffy’s quick rise and fall. I guess this would make him on the rise again, because at the end of that flick, he looked pretty much done in this town… But Hollywood loves a comeback, and this will have to do for now.
Check out the trailer for BOONDOCK SAINTS II: ALL SAINTS DAY below. It opens on OCTOBER 30th.

Snipes and Ferrara play a GAME

Wesley Snipes is returning to the ring with GAME OF DEATH, after being a non-entity on the big-budget movie circuit for years. (He has been making straight-to-video flicks like THE DETONATOR and THE CONTRACTOR, but c’mon…) GAME OF DEATH, about a bodyguard fending off a team of top-notch assassins, will be helmed by Abel Ferrara, who directed Snipes in the great 1990 cult classic KING OF NEW YORK.
GAME, which also stars Robert Davi and Zoe Bell (pictured below), began shooting in Detroit this week. Welcome back, Wesley. Pay your taxes!
