FEARnet, our pals and fellow horror purveyors, are setting up a new buddy comedy on their cable slate, which is set to star two of our favorite younger filmmakers: Adam Green (HATCHET, FROZEN) and Joe Lynch (WRONG TURN 2). The series will be called “Holliston,” and will be of the half-hour, multi-cam variety.
The sitcom, a brainchild of Green’s, will center on Adam and Joe, two friends chasing the dream of becoming successful horror movie filmmakers while struggling to make ends meet and dealing with life and the opposite sex in their post-college jobs at a cable access station where they also host a late night movie program called The Movie Crypt.
Sounds like a good time, although I hope these guys don’t veer too far from the chills and thrills. Girl problem comedy is one thing, but from these two gents, on FEARnet, we better get a good dose of the ghastly. No what I’m saying?
Dubbed as SAW meets WAYNE’S WORLD, “Holliston” will begin production later this year. The 6-episode series is the first original series for FEARnet.
