Aren’t we all? I mean, really, aren’t we all addicted to Sarah Michelle Gellar? She’s a total babe! And even if we don’t like to admit it, she’s quickly becoming the scream queen of our generation. From IKWYDLS to SCREAM 2 back in the late 90s, to THE GRUDGE and the upcoming THE RETURN, she has more straight genre pictures under her belt than most big time celebrities out there (and I wasn’t even counting the BUFFY series or THE SCOOBY DOO movies here either).
That being said, she’s at it again, as according to The Hollywood Reporter, she’s signed onto the ‘Hitchcockian’ thriller ADDICTED, from Swedish directors Joel Bergvall and Simon Sandquist . Not as horrorific as some of her work mentioned above, this flick is more like a weird mystery thriller than anything else, but it sounds like the material could go in a very creepy direction. ADDICTED centers on a woman whose husband and brother-in-law both end up in a coma after an accident. When the brother awakes, claiming to be her husband, she must try to understand the reality, suspecting something more sinister is at work.
That’s some weird shite right there. And yeah, if my in-law was claiming to be my husband, I’d probably suspect something was up too! Could be the work of the devil? Maybe, as for some reason I’m getting this total ROSEMARY’S BABY vibe here

Production is set to start in October. Will this be Gellar’s greatest effort yet? I sure hope so, as THE RETURN looks like poop in a hand basket (but the poster is cool). Stick around for more on ADDICTED as we hear it!
