After 6 months, Stranger Things season 4 is officially back in production

A couple weeks ago, we heard that the fourth season of Netflix's hit series Stranger Things might resume production on September 28th – and it looks like that's exactly what happened, because yesterday the official Stranger Things Twitter account was updated with a shot of a clapperboard on set, indicating that cameras are indeed rolling on the season again.

Stranger Things season 4 had been filming for a couple weeks when the pandemic hit and production had to be shut down on March 13th. More than six months later, the cast is back on set. The creative team has said that the shutdown was actually beneficial, because it allowed the writers to complete the scripts for every episode of the season. Scripts are usually still being written as the seasons are being shot.

Stranger Things season 4 finds that David Harbour's character Hopper is

imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human… and other.

Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything.

While Stranger Things is primarily filmed in Georgia, the scenes involving Hopper's Russian ordeal were shot in Lithuania.

Harbour is joined in the cast of season 4 by fellowing returning stars Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Joe Keery, Sadie Sink, Winona Ryder, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Cara Buono, Brett Gelman, and Maya Hawke.
