It was only a matter of time before someone snatched up Rob Zombie’s latest, and that someone happens to be Alchemy, who Deadline reports has just picked up the North American rights to 31, which just began production in L.A. The deal was sealed by Alchemy CEO Bill Lee, who has been on a tear since restructuring and re-branding Millennium Entertainment.

“Rob Zombie is a true artist and master filmmaker at the height of his game,” Lee said. “With 31 he’s creating yet another terrifyingly immersive and twisted world that will delight audiences. Alchemy’s mission is to connect exceptional storytellers with existing and new fans, and we look forward to doing so with Rob’s latest work.”

In the film:

31 follows five carnival workers who are kidnapped the night before Halloween and held hostage in a large secret compound known as Murder World. Once there, they have 12 hours to survive a terrifying game called 31 in which “The Heads” – murderous maniacs dressed as clowns – are released to hunt them down and kill them.

Here’s what the cast looks like: Jeff Daniel Phillips stars as Roscoe; Richard Brake as “Doom-Head”; Jane Carr as “Sister Serpent”; Ginger Lynn as Cherry Bomb, a very special friend of the main man Doom-Head; Malcolm McDowell, who will play Father Murder, the owner of Murder World; Judy Geeson as “Sister Dragon”; David Ury as “Schizo-Head”; Daniel Roebuck as Pastor Victor; Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs as “Panda Thomas,” the manager of a traveling roadshow known as “The Venus Lux Happy Time Fun Show”; Pancho Moler as “Sick-Head; Tracy Walter as “Lucky Leo”; E.G. Daily as the character “Sex-Head”; Torsten Voges as “Death-Head,” as well as Sheri Moon Zombie, Lew Temple, Bari Suzuki, and Devin Sidell.
