Alexandra Daddario of BEREAVEMENT, TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D, BURYING THE EX, and True Detective stars in a new horror-thriller that has had my attention since it was first announced a year ago. That's MY FRIEND DAHMER director Marc Meyers' film WE SUMMON THE DARKNESS, which recently made its world premiere at Fantastic Fest in Texas.

WE SUMMON THE DARKNESS doesn't have a specific release date yet, but while we wait for that a clip has arrived online to give us a 98 second preview of a scene featuring Daddario's character.

From "the wild mind of screenwriter Alan Trezza" comes a story set in 1988, when

the killing spree of murderous Satanists has already led to 18 deaths throughout America's Heartland. Three best friends Alexis, Val and Beverly embark on a road trip to a heavy metal music festival. Naive, they bond with three seemingly fun-loving dudes and soon the group heads off to Alexis' country home, a very secluded place, for an afterparty. What should be a night of fun and youthful debauchery may instead take a dark, deadly turn. With killers on the loose, can anyone be trusted?

Daddario is joined in the cast by Maddie Hasson, Amy Forsyth, Keean Johnson, Logan Miller, Austin Swift, and Johnny Knoxville.

I don't know if anyone who goes to Alexis' country home is actually a Satanic killer, but the clip embedded below makes it clear that the interaction between the girls and dudes definitely turns bad at some point.

Meyers told Entertainment Weekly he was drawn to this project by the "really fun script."

The moment I read it I thought it was the perfect film to do after MY FRIEND DAHMER. Where MY FRIEND DAHMER leaves off, the adventure for me as a filmmaker continues here. It's funny, bloody, wild, and non-stop. I learn something new making every movie. This was my first experience working with pyrotechnics, practical special effects, stunts, and lots of knives. And now as filmmaker, I look forward to having more opportunities to bring such color and action to the screen."

Highland Film Group is handling the worldwide sales for WE SUMMON THE DARKNESS, which is a Fyzz Pictures, Common Enemy, and Nightshade Entertainment production in association with Litecoin Foundation, Iconic Media One, Grey Hawk Productions, and MEP Capital.
