The cast of DEATH RACE has just gotten a bit more crowded, as Joan Allen ( BOURNE TRILOGY ) has signed on. The remake of the cult-classic has some people weary because of who is directing, Paul W.S. Anderson – who broke so many hearts with his depiction of ALIEN VS. PREDATOR. But rest assured folks, this flick has a saving grace in the form of Jason Statham, who is the film’s leading man.
If you remember correctly, the original DEATH RACE starred Rocky himself, Sylvester Stallone, – so I think Statham can fill those huge shoes. Also on the cast list with Statham and Allen are Tyrese Gibson and Ian McShane (which was reported earlier today by Ammon Gilbert).
In case you were wondering what this film is about (like it matters, it has a f*cking awesome title), the plot goes like this: A no-holds barred, ultra-violent race involving prisoners who race for their lives. Buckle up.
