If you’re nursing your post-Oscar party hangover (as you should be), you may be trying to piece together what happened earlier in the night. Whether you were watching the red carpet on E! or doing a keg stand, you may have caught this little tidbit: JENNIFER’S BODY star Amanda Seyfried confirmed on the red carpet that she will be starring in Catherine Hardwicke’s THE GIRL WITH THE RED RIDING HOOD, a Gothic retelling of ‘Little Red Riding Hood.’
Written by David Leslie Johnson, and developed over at Warner Bros. in conjuncture with Appian Way, the film will be a much darker, much Gothier, much scarier version of the tale of the little red riding hood, the big bad wolf, the woodsman, and grandma. The tale is already dark and twisted but has become seen as something light and fluffy for kids. Let’s hope this one will give kids nightmares for years to come.
Then again, it’s coming from the director of TWILIGHT, so don’t count on it being more than PG-13… but we can hope! Seyfried seems like the perfect casting choice for a Little Red Riding Hood, plus it helps that she’s hot.
Stick around for more on THE GIRL WITH THE RED RIDING HOOD as we hear it!
