Amazon Prime’s Jack Ryan TV series releases new explosive trailer

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

In a weird way, Tom Clancy creation Jack Ryan might be the closest thing we have to an American James Bond…in the sense that we have a military hero from an ultra-conservative/nationalist author who has multiple films spanning decades with many different actors portraying him. I mean, it's not a 1-to-1, but it makes a certain amount of sense. If only Ryan's villains were as memorable.

Anyway, the latest Jack Ryan is THE OFFICE's John Krasinski in Amazon Prime's upcoming series JACK RYAN, filling the shoes once filled by the likes of Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and Chris Pine. Krasinski showed he could be a viable leading action hero in 13 HOURS (even if the movie is mostly garbage otherwise), so I think he'll do a fine job. However, the above teaser doesn't show much (or any) footage of him in action (in fact, there's no guarantee any of that will be in the episode itself), but it does gives an indication that this is going to be more "gritty" and "serious" in tone than some of the previous iterations (especially SHADOW RECRUIT).

Also here's the synopsis for the upcoming series:

When CIA analyst Jack Ryan stumbles upon a suspicious series of bank transfers his search for answers pulls him from the safety of his desk job and catapults him into a deadly game of cat and mouse throughout Europe and the Middle East, with a rising terrorist figurehead preparing for a massive attack against the US and her allies.

So any Jack Ryan fans out there? And if so, what do you think of the show or the casting of Krasinski? Either way, sound off below!

Meanwhile, JACK RYAN will explode onto Amazon Prime in 2018.
