Based on Joe Hill's best-selling novel of the same name, NOS4A2 followed Vic McQueen (Ashleigh Cummings), a young woman with the supernatural ability to track Charlie Manx (Zachary Quinto), an immortal creature who feeds on the souls of children and deposits what remains of them into Christmasland – a twisted place of Manx's imagination where every day is Christmas Day and unhappiness is against the law.

The first season of the AMC series performed well in the ratings department, but the second season, which recently wrapped up, saw ratings fall by as much as half when compared to the previous season. We all know that that means, and NOS4A2 showrunner and executive producer Jami O'Brien took to Twitter to confirm that AMC has cancelled the series.

"Christmasland may live forever, but NOS4A2 will come to an end with the conclusion of season two," said AMC in their own statement. "We are so thankful to Jami O’Brien, Joe Hill and the entire cast and crew for two seasons of inspired, terrifying and thoroughly captivating and age-defying television. And thanks to the fans for climbing into the Wraith and coming along for the ride." Although I never got around to catching NOS4A2 for myself, from what I understand, the story was largely complete. Still, I'd imagine that fans of the show might be disappointed that the series won't be returning.
