The Dune Popcorn Bucket
You may have remembered a few years ago when Dune: Part Two was released; AMC jumped on the growing trend of movies having their own specially made, creative popcorn buckets that are inspired by the film. You may remember it because of all the things they could have chosen to depict on the Dune: Part Two bucket, they rightfully chose to have a Dune sandworm emerging from the bucket, with its mouth used as the entry point into the pile of popcorn. And social media would have a ball making jokes about the design since the mouth of a sandworm would resemble something rather irreverently suggestive (I’ll just leave it at that). It’s pretty unmistakable what kinds of jokes that the public would make and now that a new Dune sequel is coming out, the studio is prepared to give the people what they want.
Dune: Part Three Popcorn Bucket
Variety has now passed along the design of the popcorn bucket that will go on sale in conjunction with Dune: Part Three and AMC is doubling down with…two sandworms. Not only will there be a double sandworm bucket, but there will also be one with a sandworm and a sandworm thumper (which is the device used to lure the sandworms in the films). Check them out below!
Hank Green, AMC’s senior VP of food and beverage, stated, “The AMC Sandworm popcorn bucket for Dune: Part Two became a viral phenomenon, and we knew that Dune fans would have high expectations for what came next. From the moment we started planning the Dune: Part Three collectibles, our goal was to exceed those fan expectations. The Sandworm Thumper and Double Sandworm collectibles take the experience to the next level with designs straight from the movie.”
Dune: Part Three
Dune: Part Three picks up nearly two decades after Paul Atreides forcibly seized control of the Imperium. Now ruling as a ruthless and burdened Emperor, Paul must face the devastating consequences of his terrifying reign. Old allies return to challenge his authority, terrifying new threats emerge from the desert depths, and betrayal lurks in every shadow. Haunted by prophetic visions of Imperial collapse and the agonizing reappearance of his long-lost love, Paul is drawn deep into a sweeping interstellar conspiracy, one in which Chani is positioned directly at the heart of its unfolding mystery. As enemies close in from every side, Paul must finally confront the true cost of absolute power and the tragic fate of those he loves most.
Directed by Denis Villeneuve, the film boasts a powerhouse ensemble cast starring Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Oscar nominee Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, and Isaach de Bankolé, alongside Oscar nominee Charlotte Rampling, Anya Taylor-Joy, Robert Pattinson, and Oscar winner Javier Bardem.
