AMC releases new art for Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead

Fear the Walking Dead

This is a time of major change for the AMC television shows Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead. Fear just spent the first half of its fourth season completely tearing apart the series as we knew it, killing off the two most important characters – one at the actor's request, the other to the actor's dismay. Something similar is going on with The Walking Dead, which is going to be losing its most important character in its upcoming ninth season. This was a decision made by the actor, possibly at least partly in response to a controversial death in the eighth season.

However the loss of that character is going to be handled, at least the multiple season battle with the community known as The Saviors is over.

Both of the Dead shows will be a presence at the San Diego Comic-Con later this month, and in anticipation of that major event AMC has released some new key art to promote their scheduled returns to the airwaves.

The second half of Fear the Walking Dead season 4 will begin airing on AMC on August 12th. At least one episode will see the characters getting stuck in a destructive storm (a zombienado?), and that's the scenario being sold in the artwork.

In the art for The Walking Dead season 9, which will reach AMC in October, we see Rick Grimes sporting a new hairstyle (evidence of the time jump that will be happening between the eighth and ninth seasons) and a cool shot of a crumbling Capitol Building in the background. The zombie apocalypse has been going on for quite a while by this point.

The Comic-Con panels for Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead will be held back-to-back in Hall H on Friday, July 20th. Both will be moderated by Yvette Nicole Brown.
