American Carnage trailer: Jenna Ortega discovers a horrifying conspiracy in July release

Saban Films will be giving director Diego Hallivis’s satirical horror film American Carnage a theatrical, VOD, and digital release on July 15th, and in anticipation of this release we’ve gotten our hands on both the trailer for the film, which you can watch in the embed above, along with a poster, which is featured at the bottom of this article.

Scripted by Diego Hallivis and his brother Julio Hallivis (as The Hallivis Brothers), American Carnage has the following synopsis:

After a governor issues an executive order to arrest the children of undocumented immigrants, the newly detained youth are offered an opportunity to have their charges dropped by volunteering to provide care to the elderly. Once inside the eldercare facility, the volunteers discover the governor and the facility’s supervisor have cooked up a horrifyingly depraved conspiracy that endangers the young and the old in this twisted thriller-comedy.

The film stars Jorge Lendeborg Jr. (Alita: Battle Angel), Jenna Ortega (Scream 2022), Allen Maldonado (The Wonder Years), Bella Ortiz (Chicago Med), Jorge Diaz (Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones), Yumarie Morales (The Shrink Next Door), Catherine McCafferty (Killer Weekend), Paloma Bloyd (The Man Who Killed Don Quixote), Brett Cullen (Joker), and Eric Dane (Feast).

Ortega has said that one of her goals when she got into acting was to work in the horror genre, and she’s enjoying a nice streak of genre projects right now. In addition to Scream and American Carnage, she was also in X, Studio 666, The Babysitter: Killer Queen, and the thriller series You. Insidious: Chapter 2 was one of her earliest credits, and she’s playing Wednesday Addams in the upcoming Netflix series Wednesday.

The Hallivis Brothers produced American Carnage with Andres Rosende. Rocco Giamatteo co-produced and Braden Aftergood served as executive producer.

Diego Hallivis previously directed the 2017 sci-fi thriller Curvature and the 2011 basketball movie Game Time.
