American Horror Story season 12: Cara Delevingne joins Emma Roberts, Kim Kardashian in cast

Two weeks ago, it was announced that American Horror Story season 12 is going to be based on source material, which is a first for the FX anthology series. The material in question is the novel Delicate Condition by Danielle Valentine – which is why American Horror Story season 12 is subtitled Delicate. The cast of this season is being headed up by American Horror Story regular Emma Roberts and “reality star, entrepreneur, podcaster and pop culture icon” Kim Kardashian, and Deadline reports that they’re being joined in the cast by Cara Delevingne of Only Murders in the Building, Carnival Row, and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.

Details on Delevingne’s character are being kept under wraps, but she has already been spotted on the set:

Created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, American Horror Story is an anthology series where each season is conceived as a self-contained miniseries, following a different set of characters and settings in the same fictional universe, and a storyline with its own “beginning, middle, and end.”

Valentine’s novel Delicate Condition is set to reach store shelves in August, courtesy of Sourcebooks Landmark. It’s said to be a “gripping thriller about a woman who becomes convinced that a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens.“

Kardashian is taking on a role that was written with her specifically in mind. This season of American Horror Story is being written and showrun by a single writer, Halley Feiffer.

Murphy, Falchuk, and Feiffer are executive producing American Horror Story season 12, or American Horror Story: Delicate, with Alexis Martin Woodall and Scott Robertson. Filming is set to begin in New York City later this month, and the season is expected to premiere on FX sometime this summer. Murphy and FX will announce an exact premiere date in June.
