Found an interesting little thriller, based on a true tale, currently in post for The Independent Film Company. The flick is called UWANTMETOKILLHIM?, and is being directed by Andrew Douglas (AMITYVILLE HORROR), produced by Bryan Singer. Want to hear more? Let’s run it…

From writer Mike Walden – UWANTMETOKILLHIM? is:

A thriller detailing the true story of a teenage boy’s descent into the dangerous world of the internet and the harrowing consequences of his actions.

When 16 year old Mark meets local girl Rachel on the internet and begins an intense online relationship, he quickly finds that he’s besotted and that he’ll do anything for her. Even befriend her awkward, loner brother John. When Rachel, who is trapped within the grips of an abusive boyfriend, is murdered, Mark and John develop violent desires to avenge her death. The actions draw the attention of a secret government department, as they unwittingly stumble upon an ongoing operation. Soon Mark is recruited to commit a devastating, harrowing crime, one that made British legal history.

Based on true events in the UK in 2003, this is the story of a friendship of opposites and the hidden evils that lurk deep within the Internet.

Jamie Blackley (London Boulevard; Snow White and the Huntsman), Toby Regbo (One Day; Mr. Nobody), Joanne Froggatt (Downtown Abbey, In Our Name, below), Liz White (The Woman in Black, The Crimson Petal and the White), Jaime Winstone (Made in Dagenham; Kidulthood) and Mark Womack (Kelly & Victor, The Runaway) all appear in the film.
