According to Variety, BURIED writer Chris Sparling’s spec script ATM has just been picked up by the Safran Company and Gold Circle Films. Considering it’s from a guy who wrote an entire movie about a dude in a box, this should be one to look out for.
I’d like to say this is a full 90 minutes of what happens when an ATM machine eats your card, or doesn’t recognize your pin, but it’s a little more than that. The film centers on three co-workers who — on a routine stop at an ATM — unexpectedly end up in a desperate fight for their lives.
While not what I was imagining, it sounds pretty flippin’ awesome none-the-less, with a ton of potential to be the next big thing. David Brooks has been tapped to direct, with a tentative production start date sometime this fall.
Strippers: the original ATM killer.
