If you’re looking to get your zombie on, look no further than this onslaught of images from the upcoming third season of AMC’s The Walking Dead, featuring a slew of never-before-seen images and some character shots, as well as a peek at the exclusive Entertainment Weekly covers.

Starring Andrew Lincoln, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, Steven Yeun, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, Chandler Riggs, Michael Rooker and newcomers David Morrissey as the infamous Governor and Danai Gurira as Michonne, the third season is tackling the most hard-hitting story arc from the comics to date that will shake the foundation of the status quo in unimaginable ways.

“This season really is about setting up these two worlds and watching them come to a head and collide,” says exec producer Robert Kirkman. “And you know that there are going to be some pretty explosive encounters between Rick and the Governor. This season is going to be about getting to know these two characters, and then waiting for their eventual confrontation that could destroy everything.”

Prepare for the invasion:

AMC’s The Walking Dead season 3 is set to premiere on October 14, 2012.
