We saw Frank Miller last week at the Comic-Con and the dude wouldn’t spill the beans on who would be playing The Spirit in his upcoming feature film. Looks like we didn’t have to wait long for word though as the news broke today that Gabriel Macht will star in THE SPIRIT. Macht recently starred in THE GOOD SHEPHERD and has a co-starring role in the Kate Beckinsale thriller WHITEOUT on the way. Macht will star alongside Samuel L. Jackson who will play the villainous Octopus set on destroying all of Central City. Macht has signed on for not just one SPIRIT film but multiple sequels as Lionsgate says they’ll be “making more than one SPIRIT movie.” Miller is currently wrapping up work on a SIN CITY 2 script with Robert Rodriguez and will then segue to directing SPIRIT this October. Lionsgate is planning a 2009 release.
