Looks like another classic game is about to get the big screen treatment. According to Variety, Crystal Sky Pictures has bought the rights to CASTLEVANIA. The long running Konami video game franchise was never one that got my joystick working, but hey, to each their own.
The flick will focus on the origins of Dracula and the uprising of the Belmont Clan, a vampire-slaying family who supposedly become humanity’s last hope.
Doesn’t do a helluva lot for me, but ya never now. Especially with one Paul W.S. Anderson set to adapt and direct the property. He catches a lot of heat from genre fans, but I still think EVENT HORIZON is one of the most purely f*cked up movies I’ve ever seen. Plus the dude knows how to entertain, so I always err towards giving him the benefit of the doubt.
