Angelica Ross Pose

Angelica Ross is moving from one Ryan Murphy show on FX over to another. Ross was one of five trans women of color to be cast in the Murphy co-created drama series Pose, where she played a character called Candy Abundance Ferocity. Candy made a tragic exit from Pose in the episode that aired on FX this past Tuesday, and very next day Murphy and Ross both took to their social media accounts to announce that she will now be playing a role on the upcoming season of Murphy's FX horror anthology American Horror Story.

The two seasons of Pose have taken place over a period of time between 1987 and 1990. It seems Ross will be staying in the past for her American Horror Story role, as the new season is called American Horror Story: 1984 and is drawing inspiration from horror films of the '80s. Judging by the promo that has been released, slashers in particular are a major influence.

Ross is only the third confirmed cast member for the 1984 season, following Emma Roberts and Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy. The only detail given about her character is that it's an "unforgettable role".

American Horror Story regular Evan Peters has said that he's sitting out this season, and fellow regular Sarah Paulson may be doing the same. If Paulson appears in 1984, it could only be for a cameo.

American Horror Story was created by Murphy and Brad Falchuk. The 1984 season will begin airing on FX on September 18th.
