ANGELS & DEMONS resides in a weird netherworld as far as we’re concerned. It’s not exactly “our” kind of movie, and yet it’s freaky subject matter with, lets face it, a helluva title. And now it’s got a pretty compelling teaser poster, so let’s run with it…
Based on the novel ‘Angels and Demons’, the movie follows world-renowned Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon, who is summoned to a Swiss research facility (CERN) to analyze a mysterious symbol seared into the chest of a murdered physicist. He discovers evidence of the unimaginable, the rebirth of an ancient secret brotherhood known as the Illuminati, the most powerful underground organization ever to walk the earth.
Obviously it’s a sequel – or prequel – to the highly controversial DA VINCI CODE, a book I’ve never read, but the movie was so boring that I’ve never made it through 5 consecutive minutes of it. Let’s hope Opie hits one out of the park this time.
The flick stars Tom Hanks, Ewan McGregor, Stellan Skarsgård, Armin Mueller-Stahl and Ayelet Zurer (pictured below). It hits theaters in May of next year…
