Annabelle Wallis goes from The Mummy to The Silencing

The Mummy Annabelle Wallis

After facing off with the supernatural horrors of ANNABELLE and THE MUMMY, actress Annabelle Wallis is returning to the horror/thriller realm with a film that focuses on a more down-to-earth threat. Wallis will co-star with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in the serial killer film THE SILENCING.

Even though I have seen Wallis in two movies, I still don't have a strong impression of her acting abilities. Maybe this one will be when she's given a chance to really impress.

When this project was announced last year, Anders Engström was at the helm. Engström had to drop out due to scheduling issues, though, so THE SILENCING is now moving forward with Robin Pront set to direct from the screenplay by Micah Ranum. The story follows

a reformed hunter (Coster-Waldau) who becomes involved in a deadly game of cat and mouse when he and the local sheriff set out to track a vicious killer who may have kidnapped his daughter years ago.

THE SILENCING is being produced by Cybill Lui of Anova Pictures, with Wilding Pictures' Matt Code co-producing and XYZ Films executive producing. XYZ and Endeavor Content are presenting the project to potential distributors at the European Film Market.

Once expected to film in Europe last fall, THE SILENCING is now scheduled to begin filming in Canada this spring.
