Annie Potts will appear in Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

We know that original Ghostbusters Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson will all be making cameo appearances in director Paul Feig's new take on GHOSTBUSTERS, pictures have even shown Hudson on set during the last day of filming. As it turns out, the 'busters aren't the only cast members of the original film to have shot scenes for the reboot.

Annie Potts, who played the Ghostbusters' receptionist Janine Melnitz in GHOSTBUSTERS 1984 and 1989's GHOSTBUSTERS II, will also be showing up in Feig's film, reportedly as a hotel clerk.

Chris Hemsworth takes over the position of the receptionist for the new Ghostbusters, who are played by Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones.

While it will be fun to see all of the surviving members of the original Ghostbusters business show up in the new film, there will also be a sadness to it, because one of them will be missing. Harold Ramis passed away last year, but I hope Feig found some way to honor him within the movie.

Now we're left wondering – are these all the cameos, or are there more? Did Sigourney Weaver sneak on set one day? William Atherton? It's highly unlikely that they could have gotten Rick Moranis to make an appearance, since he retired from acting a decade ago (for very noble reasons), but it would be awesome to see him.

One person not involved with GHOSTBUSTERS '84 who is rumored to cameo in GHOSTBUSTERS '16 is Ozzy Osbourne, as there's apparently a scene set at a "12 Hour Marathon of Metal".

We'll see everything that Paul Feig's GHOSTBUSTERS has to offer when it reaches theatre screens on July 15, 2016.
