Another Bastard?

JoBloJoBlo

burnsThe past couple of weeks has been a blitzkrieg of casting news for Quentin Tarantino’s INGLORIOUS BASTARDS, but it sounds like one of the initial names is now out of the running.

David Krumholtz (TV’s NUMB3RS, “Mr. Universe” of SERENITY) was in discussions to be part of QT’s merry band of scalp-hunting Nazi-killers, but his involvement was contingent on making the schedule work… which he apparently could not.

So, stepping in is heavily sideburned Samm Levine, perhaps best known as part of the now-popular cast of FREAKS & GEEKS. Levine (the filling in that hotness sandwich) also appeared in PULSE and on about 30 other TV shows (including ENTOURAGE and VERONICA MARS), so he should seem familiar…

Brad Pitt, Eli Roth and Mike Myers are already on board, with Simon Pegg, BJ Novak and Natassja Kinski pending. Expect more casting to arrive shortly, as the movie will start its accelerated production in October. There are still several major roles left to be filled, including a handful of Bastards, a young female lead, and many Nazis (including the dreaded Colonel called “the Jew Hunter”).
