Antoine Fuqua has been rumored for a few projects lately. More recently, Dreamworks dropped his boxing drama with Eminem called SOUTHPAW. They are currently looking for another studio to pick it up. Fuqua is also doing a Tupac biopic when he finds someone up to his standards to take on the lead. There’s also the adaptation of STORMING LAS VEGAS and a Suge Knight documentary that will play on Showtime.
Now he’s possibly going to add another film to his list. Fuqua is in talks to direct HUNTER KILLER for Relativity Media. The film is based on the book “Firing Point” by George Wallace and Don Keith. The story centers on, “an untested submarine captain who must work with a Navy SEAL team to rescue Russia’s president, taken prisoner during a military coup. The two sides team to stop a rogue Russian general from igniting World War III.”
Jamie Moss, John Kolvenbach and Arne Schmidt wrote the adaptation.
