Army veteran comes home to face the supernatural in The Unfamiliar trailer

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Director Henk Pretorius's "smart and timely" horror thriller THE UNFAMILIAR is set to be released in North America by Vertical Entertainment on August 21st, with Lionsgate UK planning to release the film in the United Kingdom on September 11th and a release in South Africa, courtesy of Filmfinity, to follow on October 28th. Ahead of these release dates, we've gotten our hands on a trailer for the film, and it's embedded above.

Starring Jemima West, Christopher Dane, Rebecca Hanssen, Harry McMillan-Hunt, Rachel Lin, and Tori Butler-Hart, THE UNFAMILIAR centers on

a British Army doctor who returns from battle with what she thinks is PTSD, only to discover that she is being attacked by malevolent spirits.

Pretorius wrote the screenplay with Jennifer Nicole Stang.

THE UNFAMILIAR is a Dark Matter Studios production, in association with Trigger Films and Onsight. Llewelynn Greeff produced the film with Barend Kruger. Gareth Jones served as executive producer.

The movie looks very interesting to me. Check out the trailer above and see if THE UNFAMILIAR is something you'd like to watch in the coming months.
