Arnold Schwarzenegger’s The Governator to become 3D movie in 2013

As you’ve probably heard by now, Arnold Schwarzenegger announced last week that his first major post-political role will be as “The Governator”, a fictionalized superhero version of himself that will first appear in comic-book and animated series form. I’m not super high on the idea myself (I think, like a lot of people, I’d rather see Arnie come back in THE EXPENDABLES 2, or something along those lines), but I suppose I’ll play along for now.

More news about the character comes today, as we learn the inevitable: THE GOVERNATOR also figures to become a 3D feature film. According to Deadline.com, it was revealed at a MIPTV press conference earlier this morning that the feature film will be ready in early 2013, though no director or screenwriter has been attached as of yet.

Meanwhile, the first trailer for “The Governator” TV series has been unveiled today; you can peek at it below. I don’t know what to say, really, other than I hope it’s just a prototype. (And Black Eyed Peas? C’mon now…)

The plan is to launch the show in late 2012.
