Asa Butterfield Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children Tim Burton

HUGO and ENDER'S GAME star Asa Butterfield is looking to come aboard Tim Burton's MISS PEREGRINE'S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN, reports The Wrap. The young actor would join the already-cast Eva Green in the dark fantasy film.

Based on the novel by Ransom Riggs, the story goes like this:

As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children who once lived here—one of whom was his own grandfather—were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a desolate island for good reason. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.

Butterfield would play Jacob, who seeks the truth about his grandfather's past after he's murdered by a “hollow,” a vicious creature that Jacob had thought to be imaginary.

20th Century Fox will distribute the film. Production is scheduled to start in February, with MISS PEREGRINE expected to hit theaters on March 4, 2016.
