Attack the Block 2: John Boyega locked to star in sequel

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

If you haven't seen Joe Cornish's cult British alien invasion horror-comedy Attack the Block starring a young John Boyega, do yourself a favor and check it out! It's funny, exciting, harrowing, and even had some real drama and pathos, and rightfully made Boyega a star.

Here's the official synopsis:

South London teenagers (John Boyega, Alex Esmail, Leeon Jones) defend their neighborhood from malevolent extraterrestrials.

Anyway, director Cornish and star Boyega always had ideas to do bigger and badder things in a sequel since the original's release in 2011, but it seems – after many false starts – the project might finally become a reality, according to Deadline, who reports that "Boyega [is] locked to return as Moses."

This is potentially very exciting, as – noted above – I loved the original film! I also feel the first film works great as a standalone thing, so I'm a bit wary about a belated sequel. However, if Cornish and Boyega think they've cracked a good story for it, I'd at least give it a shot!

So what do you guys think? Fans of the Attack the Block? If so, excited for a sequel? Either way, sound off below!
