Hounds of Love Ben Young

While reading a true crime book about female serial killers, Ben Young was reminded of a fear from childhood that his parents had instilled in him after they had heard of the crimes committed by a serial killer couple. He delved into that childhood fear to craft his feature writing and directorial debut, HOUNDS OF LOVE.

The Australian production is set in

suburban Perth during the mid 1980s, where people are unaware that women are disappearing at the hands of a serial killer couple. After an innocent lapse in judgment, one of those adbucted realizes she must find a way to drive a wedge between the couple if she is to survive.

Ashleigh Cummings, Emma Booth, Stephen Curry, Susie Porter, Damian de Montemas, Harrison Gilbertson, and Fletcher Humphrys star in the film, which had its North American premiere at the SXSW Film Conference this past Saturday.

HOUNDS OF LOVE will be playing on more screens in North America when Gunpowder & Sky Distribution give it a theatrical release on May 12th.

The film's trailer can be seen below and offers a dark and moody glimpse at a deeply disturbing scenario.
