BTO, it ain’t.

After receiving critical acclaim for his novels, Stephen King wondered if his earlier writings (before ‘Carrie’) would be of any attraction to fans. Worried that fans wouldn’t warm up to the older stories, King published said stories under the pseudonym, Richard Bachman, so that folks wouldn’t find out the truth. Well, we did, and we loved the older stuff.

After those initial Bachman books, it’s been rumoured that another book had yet to be ‘found’. Over at the Stephen King fansite, Lilja’s Library, King ‘confirmed’ that another Bachman book had been ‘found’ in the form of ‘Blaze’. The news came from King himself after his recent book tour.

The original manuscript for ‘Blaze’ was 173 pages long, and was written in 1973. Obviously, with the story being over 30 years old, King has taken it upon himself to update the story, since the 1973 references no longer worked.

Right now, King is has rewritten the first 100 or so pages, and expects to get the whole thing done by the end of the year. No publication deal has been inked yet, but come on, you know there will be one.
