Back in February we saw a highly impressive trailer for the Techland/Deep Silver videogame DEAD ISLAND, which went on to garner so much internet buzz that movies studios quickly scrambled for the rights to turn the property into a feature film. Three months after that, we caught a glimpse of a second, albeit shorter and tamer, preview of the zombie first-person shooter. What’s up, you ready for round three?!?

That’s right y’all, a third, badass new trailer for DEAD ISLAND has crossed the wire, and as always, you can get cozy with that sumbitch below. It’s definitely more visceral than the second trailer, and rivals the first as the best we’ve seen so far. Seriously, this shite’s pretty damn hard!

Dead Island is a non-linear first-person shooter in which you find yourself on an island plunged into chaos. It’s a place where the word “dead” has an entirely new meaning. Face the nightmare and fight for survival.

Use anything you find in your surroundings as a weapon. Make decisions that influence the entire world around you, take advantage of opponent behavior and game physics, and explore the secrets hidden in the darkest regions of the island.

DEAD ISLAND will hit stores September 9th. Click HERE to pre-order it for PS3, HERE for Xbox 360.
