I've been binging Chinese action films on Netflix, because for some reason Chinese – and other foreign – action films just wipe the floor with ours recently. They're all, for the most part, so much more intense, crazy, and spectacular than our newer action films, especially because they don't do that "close-ups/quick cut/motion blur" post-BOURNE bullshit. Hopefully Hollywood starts their inevitable JOHN WICK clones, so we can start competing again.
I bring this all up, because once again China has released a trailer for their recent action film THREE that just looks f*cking awesome and bonkers. Let's take a look:
Apparently, here's the official synopsis:
Realizing that he will be defeated in no time during a police showdown, a thug shoots himself to force the cops to cease fire and take him to the hospital. In the hospital, he claims human rights to refuse immediate treatment in order to bide time for his underlings to rescue him. The detective in charge sees through his scheme but decides to play along so as to capture his whole gang once and for all.
Cool. Can't wait to check this one out!
THREE had a limited release last year, but should be available in a wider release later this year.
