Fangoria got wind of some sweet casting news today for the Lions Gate and Barnholtz Entertainment direct-to-video horror flick THE MANGLER REBORN.
No, Robert Englund isn’t coming back, but Reggie Bannister (PHANTASM) and MONSTER MAN hottie Aimee Brooks (read The Arrow’s interview HERE) are set to star in this flick that sure to help us forget THE MANGLER 2.

Matt Cunningham and Eric Gardner are at the helm this time around (see interview with The Arrow HERE), and Cunningham promises many more horror legends will show up in REBORN.
“We have some other surprise cameos in the works.”And producer Mark Burman adds “Reggie Bannister is our first locked cast member, and we are absolutely overjoyed. Our goal is to fill the cast with as many fan faves as our budget will allow.”
If we’re lucky, we’ll get hooked up like we did with WISHMASTER, so maybe Englund is still in the running to return. Cunningham is a huge horror fan at heart, and his passion to bring THE MANGLER REBORN to the screen as redemption for MANGLER 2 is noteworthy. Somehow I feel reducing it down to straight to video doesn’t quite give it the justice that it will undoubtedly deserve. Filming for REBORN starts this week in Los Angeles.
