As filming continues on the highly anticipated 2016 film BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, numerous rumors continue to pop up from those claiming to be in the know. At one point we heard that Jason Momoa was finally confirmed for Aquaman and now we have sources claiming some pretty hefty connections between MAN OF STEEL and Zack Snyder‘s sequel.

GeekTyrant has posted details from a supposed extra on BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE that will have major implications for the upcoming film as well as JUSTICE LEAGUE and DC films after that. Basically, if these details turn out to be true, they will constitute MAJOR SPOILERS for the upcoming film. So, proceed with caution.

The source claims that the ending to BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE has already been filmed and involves Batman breaking into LexCorp. He is there to steal kryptonite which may indicate that Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent are not buddies by the end of the film, leading to quite an interesting opening for JUSTICE LEAGUE. But, apparently when Batman gets into the location where the kryptonite is housed, he discovers Lex Luthor is in possession of the corpse of General Zod. How the body was obtained is unknown and for what purpose, but one could assume this may be how Luthor plans to destroy Superman and take over the planet.

The other detail involves the timeframe of BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, which we were led to believe takes places months to years after MAN OF STEEL. If this source is to be believed, the opening of the film will be set much sooner.

“[BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE starts] as the battle between Superman and General Zod ends or is ending (which would explain all the damaged buildings and vehicles we’ve been seeing in photos) and Batman/Bruce Wayne is attempting to make his way to the Wayne tower in Metropolis.”

I put forward my theory that the set photos of Ben Affleck were taking place during the ending of MAN OF STEEL (a theory shared by many online) and this is in line with that. Zack Snyder and company have a lot to do to setup why Batman and Superman are at odds with one another and this seems the most likely route. Again, there is no support for these rumors at this time, but they are very interesting. The Zod’s corpse rumor seems a bit out of left field, but I am willing to believe anything at this point.

BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE opens on March 25, 2016.
