PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE may be one of my favorite ‘so utterly, utterly bad it’s good’ movies of all time. The cheap sets, the bad acting, the fake-looking props… it all adds up to one fun cheese fest, and rightfully deserving as one of the worse movies ever made.
Which brings me to the question of: what happened to the other 8 plans before PLAN 9? Well, writer/director Jonathan A Moody is out to answer that question with PLAN 8 FROM OUTER SPACE, a tribute to the original that takes the whole concept that much further. Check it out:
Jordan Daniels (Justin Griggs)
and his wife Erica Daniels (Meg Trainor) are rookie detectives trying
to make a name for themselves in their town. Unfortunately for them
though there is a team of detective brothers Matthew and Jason Walsh
(Mark Brown and Nick Abbondanzo) who are trying to outdo them. When
they all hear that a spaceship has crash landed in to Lake Powell and
that 3 aliens are attacking their town its time for Jordan and Erica
to step in to action and stop the mess once and for all. But will they
do it in time or will the town get wiped out before they get a chance.
Filmed in Black and White, and promising to showcase a few guest appearances from the original PLAN 9, PLAN 8 may be the guilty pleasure of the year… or the year’s biggest piece of crap, depending on how you look at it.
