Despite working tirelessly on BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, Ben Affleck is not slacking on his directorial follow-up to ARGO. The Academy Award-winning filmmaker has just added three talented ladies to the cast of LIVE BY NIGHT, his adaptation of the Dennis Lehane crime novel.

Deadline reports that Elle Fanning, Sienna Miller, and Zoe Saldana have joined LIVE BY NIGHT which will also star Affleck in the lead. The screenplay is being handled by novelist Lehane along with Affleck.

Live By Night uses some of the characters from Lehane’s sprawling period novel The Given Day and brings them into Prohibition. The focus is Joe Coughlin, the black sheep son of a police captain who gets involved in escalating levels of organized crime during Prohibition.

Sienna Miller will play Affleck’s love interest Emma who is also his mobster boss’ girlfriend. Zoe Saldana will play another love interest named Graciella Suarez that Affleck’s character meets in Tampa, Florida. Elle Fanning gets the coveted role of Loretta Figgis, an actress who gets in trouble with Coughlin.

LIVE BY NIGHT is shaping up to be Affleck’s biggest film as director and one I could never have imagined him taking on before seeing ARGO. Coming from the author of GONE BABY GONE, MYSTIC RIVER, and SHUTTER ISLAND, I am sure we will be in store for one hell of a ride.

LIVE BY NIGHT hits theaters on October, 7, 2016.
