Bethesda unveils new badass dragonslaying trailer for their video game epic The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I was never a big RPG video game guy growing up. The exceptions were only a few titles here and there (e.g. “Super Mario RPG” and Nintendo’s subsequent “Paper Mario” titles), but the genre remained one that I never wholly embraced for one reason or another. Then I played “The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion”, and all of that suddenly changed as I fell madly in love with a game that had the audacity to have me hunt for f*cking flowers. Flowers! Damn you, Nirnroot!

That game changed my outlook on the genre completely and I’ve been a convert ever since. So when word came that “Elder Scrolls” developer Bethesda would finally be releasing their follow-up, “Skyrim”, I jumped for joy. But in the time since the announcement, we’ve only had crumbs to sate our fantasy desires in the form of a tantalizing teaser (featuring the great voice of Max Von Sydow) and a collection of gorgeous-looking screenshots. That is, until now!

Below is the first gameplay trailer for “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” and it is pretty fantastic, depicting beautiful in-game graphics, action both intense and quiet, and a world just waiting to be deeply explored. The game hits game consoles and PC on November 11th, and I already fully anticipate my social life vanishing from that moment on.
