Way back in December, while out promoting a little film called AVATAR, Sigourney Weaver dropped a hint that Bill Murray would be coming back as a ghost in GHOSTBUSTERS 3 (check that breaking news HERE). While we all thought she was crazy for revealing such a plot point so early, it doesn’t look like she’s the only one…

While out promoting THE FANTASTIC MR. FOX, Bill Murray chatted with the UK publication Mail Online about all sorts of things, including his involvement in GHOSTBUSTERS 3.

I said to them, ‘I’ll do it if you kill me off in the first reel.’ So now they are going to have me as a ghost in the film.

And there you have it, straight from the horses mouth. Weaver wasn’t just talking out her ass, as that quote all but confirms Dr. Peter Venkman will be a ghost in the GHOSTBUSTERS. I don’t think it’s necessarily a spoiler, as some were claiming back when the news first dropped, as it’ll probably be mentioned in the film’s official synopsis, and featured in the film’s first trailer. Murray as a ghost? I’m already finding that funny.
