A teaser trailer for the upcoming Spanish thriller THE SKIN I LIVE IN (also known as THE SKIN I INHABIT) has popped up. It’s essentially a short clip from the film, and boy does this one look bizarre. Check it out below to see for yourself.
The movie is written and directed by Pedro Almodóvar, as adapted from Thierry Jonque’s 2005 novel, Tarantula. It stars Antonio Banderas, Elena Anaya (below), Marisa Paredes, Jan Cornet, Roberto Alamo, Blanca Suárez, Eduard Fernández, José Luis Gómez, Bárbara Lennie, Susi Sánchez, Fernando Cayo and Teresa Manresa.
Ever since his wife was burned in a car crash, Dr. Robert Ledgard, an eminent plastic surgeon, has been interested in creating a new skin with which he could have saved her. Sony Picture Classics will release the film in U.S. theaters in November, although it’s expected to play in its native Spain sooner. It will premiere at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival, which begins this week.
