Bjork will play “The Slav Witch” in Robert Eggers upcoming The Northman!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Bjork has just been cast in the upcoming Robert Eggers (THE WITCH, THE LIGHTHOUSE) "historical revenge film" THE NORTHMAN as – get this – "The Slav Witch". You already sold me on "Robert Eggers' next film", but Bjork being in it is just icing on the cake! Bjork was last seen in the drama DANCER IN THE DARK, where she got critical praise for her performance. She'll be joining previously cast Nicole Kidman, Anya Taylor-Joy, Alexander Skarsgård, and Willem Dafoe.

Not much is known about the plot, but that it is set in the Viking era. And after seeing how accurate and painstakingly researched the dialogue/dialect THE WITCH and THE LIGHTHOUSE were, I'm really looking forward to what he does with that setting!

Meanwhile, no set release date as of yet – as production was halted due to Covid-19 – but we'll keep you updated!

So what do you guys think? Either way, sound off below!
